Witch’s Brew, The Perfect Sassy Halloween Cocktail
A delicious and easy Halloween Cocktail, this Witch’s Brew is a festive purple color with dry ice for a spooky touch!
It’s COCKTAIL TIME, y’all! Halloween month is almost upon us, and I finally got a chance to play with some dry ice! Let me tell you, I knew it was cool but now I’m really sold on using it for Halloween concoctions.
You can find it at grocery stores (just ask) and a little goes a long way! More on the dry ice below. This Witch’s Brew Sassy Halloween Cocktail is as delicious as it is spooky!
The purple color and the shimmery effect gives it that super spooky Halloween “look”. Grab your “ghoul” friends and host a girl’s night Halloween party.
Serve them these Witch’s Brew Sassy Cocktails on a tray or bar cart as they arrive.
While I was perusing the liquor store for the perfect purple concoctions (tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it), I came across Viniq which has a shimmering effect when swirled.
It is amazing and the flavored vodka has a fruity taste that’s super delish. Perfect, I thought!
P.S. Since researching Viniq (because, hello…shimmering liquor? amazing), I discovered that they also have a vibrant red version which would also be perfect for vampire Halloween drinks.
Back to the purple, so it’s truly two ingredients. Sounds silly to even call it a recipe!
When throwing a party, I love short ingredient lists! Anything that can make life a little easier is the name of the game.
I found silver Halloween spiders at the craft store that fit perfectly with this fancy yet spooky drink. Simple black spiders would also work just fine, of course!
I’ve also got another dry ice Halloween cocktail coming your way soon so ask your grocery store if they sell dry ice the next time you’re there (Publix does), and get excited for some seriously spooky sippers this Halloween!
Is Dry Ice Safe in this Halloween Cocktail?
If you have questions about dry ice, you’re not alone! I wasn’t even sure if it was safe to put into a drink.
Here’s what I learned; It is completely safe to put dry ice into a beverage you plan on consuming. Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide (CO2). At room temperature, carbon dioxide sublimates into the air.
Now, you do want to wear gloves when handling it because it can damage your skin if touched. I used an ice pick to break my larger piece into smaller ones to drop into each drink just before serving.
For a larger punch bowl, drop a larger piece in the bottom. It’s that easy!
For More Halloween Ideas, check out:
- 2 ounces Viniq Original - purple
- 2 ounces dry champagne or prosecco
- dry ice
- Pour purple liquor into glasses.
- Top with champagne.
- Drop in dry ice!

Love! Where did you find the spiders and webs?
Hi Julie! I have had them for a couple of years but it was either Michaels or JoAnns so I’d check your local craft stores (Hobby Lobby too).
That one is a winner and those spiders are so cool. I guess you could always glitter up some black ones if you can’t find the silver.
Gotta love dry ice this time of year!! They look beautiful!
Thank you eden!
Love the drinks! But if you have to wear gloves to handle the dry ice, won’t it hurt your lips/mouth when you sip the drink???
It starts to fizz away almost immediately and if you sip it, it’s at the bottom (sinks straight there) so it won’t touch your lips :) It’s gone by the time you’d reach the bottom of the drink. Totally safe!
I have never used dry ice before, but it looks soooo cool in these drinks!
This is awesome!
now I need to plan a party to show off this fun new cocktail! LOVE it
