Happy Weekend, more importantly… Happy FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND! I don’t know about you, but Father’s Day weekend around here means lots of family and delicious recipes. I absolutely love smoked meats so today I wanted to share my favorite recipe for smoked pork. It’s super simple and doesn’t use too many ingredients. The smoker and the meat are really the shining stars, as they should be! Win an electric smoker!

I’m excited to share a recipe with you, too! This is for Smoked Pork Butt which would be perfect for making sandwiches or eating with some delicious side dishes (like smoked potato casserole – yum).

Smoked Pork Butt

Ingredients
  

  • 7 lbs Fresh pork butt
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder

Instructions
 

  • Mix ingredients and rub onto pork butt.
  • Cook pork butt for 5 hours in 225 degree pre heated smoker using apple wood chips during the first 3 hours.
  • After 5 hours remove butt and wrap in heavy foil.
  • Cook for an additional 1 to 1 ½ hours. Internal temperature should be 160 degrees. Serve.

    I would love for my husband to have a new Electric Smoker, I believe the one he has now was invented by Tesla. It still smokes well, but I can see through it in places. First thing to smoke, would be “Trout”…nothing like it!
