As a child, I adored Golden Books – classic, whimsical children’s stories with the gold binding. I could spot them on any shelf. Anneliese of Aesthetic Nest designed this Golden Books Baby Shower for two moms – a double shower! What fun! The pictures speak for themselves as you can see no detail was left out! My personal favorite? The World of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter – such a classic.

Anneliese shared, “My sister was hosting a book shower for a couple friends of ours expecting little boys. I love the idea of a book shower because I LOVE children’s books (no such thing as too many) and truly think starting a library for a little one is one of the best gifts an expectant mom could receive. Plus books are a great topic for gathering a bunch of women (as book clubs have proved) to reminisce, share advice and anticipate all the great memories that will be created by new moms reading to their children.”

As you know, I love a party that looks great but does not cost an arm and a leg. Anneliese styled this party in a budget! She shared, “Unlike the parties I’ve done in the past, this one came together almost exclusively with items my sister (the host) and I had on hand! Nice frugal start to the new year! Wtih the exception of a canvas I painted, some ribbon purchased at Michael’s, some candy and some vintage book ends purchase on eBay, all children’s books, toys and serving pieces came from out of our closets. I then designed a suite of papers, including invitation, book plates, cupcake toppers, and cupcake wrappers to pull it all together in a color scheme of blue, white and gold. I designed a Golden Books motif inspired by the characteristic drawings on the spine of the Golden Books and this printable suite is available as a free download.”
