Surfer Boy’s Birthday Party!
Surf’s Up! Sara De St. Jean of The Homespun Hostess is an up and coming party blogger that you must check out! Full of creative ideas, Sara planner her 7 year old son Andrew’s birthday party all around one of his favorite activities, SURFING! The colors were blue and orange with a little pop of green. I love the originality of this theme and the bright summer colors!
Check out the details from the straws to the labels and the water colored cake! And my fave? The ‘watch out for sharks’ drink stirrers! Kow-A-Bunga!
How fabulous is that SHARK PUNCH?! The blue color is perfect and the ice looks just like shark fins!
I adore the polka dot and striped straws (one of my favorite party decorations). You can find similar ones at Shop Sweet Lulu! I also adore the blue striped cupcake wrappers and the SURFS UP cupcake flags! Little details like cupcake flags take a basic cupcake from cute to WOW! And the soda bottle wrappers around the Orange Crush is perfect for a refresher!
Another neat idea from this Surfer’s Party?! Paper Lanterns! I love how Sara just let them add decoration to the table itself rather than hanging them. You can find a huge selection of paper lanterns at Luna Bazaar. They add bright POPS of color to any party!
Talented Sara also created all of the printables. Her Etsy shop is Party Papers and you can purchase this set if you want to host your own surfing birthday bash! Talent doesn’t run thin in this family. Sara’s sister baked ALL the amazing cookies as well as cupakes and the cake!

Love the Homespun Hostess. She made my son’s first birthday party invite and soda bottle labels for the party this coming weekend.
This is just fabulous… everything from the color scheme to the layout. I wonder if I can talk my son into a surf party next year, haha?!?

id really like to know how you did the shark fin ice in the punch??? please share you secret!!!
I actually bought a shark fin ring mold at Target. It was in the section where they sell popsicle makers and slushy ingredients. It was almost 2 years ago now….you might want to try target online or EBAY.
Very cool going to make this cake for my sons 16th are the surfboards biscuits?
