Party Planning for Outdoor Summer Parties!

Guess what, y’all!? I’m finally back to work after having #BabyPizzazzerie. Let me say that while I totally loved these 6 weeks, my creative self has been itching to get back to party planning. Pier 1 asked me to collaborate on an Outdoor Summer Party so of course – I jumped up and down and said YES! I’m thrilled to share my initial thoughts for the outdoor party with you – AND the awesome playlist I created.

Pier 1’s collection for outdoor entertaining this season is fabulous. I mean down right darling. I had a difficult time not getting.it.all. Even Blakely got in on the shopping action! 

There are so many bright and festive colors this summer season. I was totally smitten with this papasan chair in aqua blue and the red quatrefoil pillows. Love this color combo! It would be a fun twist for a patriotic party, don’t you think? Love it.

As you can see from the top picture in this post, I’m REALLY loving their teal and orange coral collection. The plates look like real pottery but are in fact patio friendly because they’re melamine! So perfect for pool-side soirees too. So I picked up some pillows, a few white stacking chairs, and some other pieces to begin my outdoor party design. I’m so inspired by the coral pattern on the pillows because it’s reminiscent of tropical waters and beaches – perfect for summer. I can’t wait to show you how I pull the whole party together!

Music isn’t something I talk a lot about here but it’s a party element I never forget. Music can help set the mood and create the perfect ambiance for any type of celebration. For my outdoor summer party with Pier 1, I am using Spotify to make a playlist. I had never used Spotify before but now I am hooked. It’s SO easy (and free!).
