Autumn Cocktails by Crista Scibelli
One of my favorite things about the Fall is the chance to try some new fun cocktail creations! Whether you’re throwing a little party or just cozying up on a Sunday, these creative Autumn-inspired drinks will really put you in the season’s spirit!
I must start off by saying, I am usually not a red wine drinker but this spiced up version is an exception to my Riesling Rule! Just start off with your favorite Syrah or Pinot Noir, add 1/3 cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp of nutmeg and a splash of brandy – warm over medium heat for about 20 min. Pour into a glass and voila (!)- this wine will definitely warm you up.
What’s the only thing better than a Martini? A Pumpkin-Tini of course! Combine ½ oz cinnamon liqueur, 2 oz vanilla vodka and a ½ oz pumpkin liqueur in a shaker with ice; strain into a cocktail glass. Dust some cinnamon on top and you’re all set!
“Not Your Daughter’s Apple Cider”
When the kids are away the adults will…..drink their apple juice! For a new spin on an old Autumn stand-by, just add apple brandy and a dash of cinnamon to apple cider and warm it up! This is a delicious toasty treat…perfect with a dollop of whipped cream on top too J
Go ahead, you deserve it! An easy and edgy way to treat yourself is this simple cocktail: 1 oz of Crown Royal combined with 1/2 oz of apple flavored vodka and a splash of apple juice over ice is all it takes to wind down after that long day of raking leaves!
“Orange You Lovin’ It”
Ok, this one is my personal specialty and is absolutely delicious. Mix together 4 oz orange soda, 2 oz spiced rum, a splash of OJ and a tbsp of orange sherbet- pour into a fun glass and decorate the rim with sparkly sprinkles- yum! The sherbet is the best part, so drink up before it melts!
