Outside Party Lighting

Outside Party Lighting

Summer brings with its arrival not only warmer weather but also outdoor PARTIES!  From casual backyard dinners to lavish outside weddings, lighting makes all the difference. It creates the ambiance that sets the mood for your guests. Do not forget to think about lighting and how it can enhance your party’s style! Here are a few fun ways!

Paper Lanterns
Not only are they inexpensive, but they are also found almost everywhere these days.  We recently found some patriotic themed paper lanterns at the Dollar Tree. Yes, $1! Looking for a specific color, BeauCoup has a fun selection!

String Lights
They aren’t just for the Christmas season! Recently, I found a box of small white lights on sale to decorate my back patio for a dinner party! Want to get more creative? No problem, you can find string lights in almost any shape.  Target has some fun lantern string lights!

Candles & Torches
Candles and Torches create the best glowing ambiance! Do be careful when using candles and torches around children and pets! For a rustic-charm look, carefully hang candles in deep containers!

  1. Awesome lighting ideas Bombshell~thank you!! I am looking forward to using some of these ideas very very soon~thank you again Courtney! XOXO Gigi Belmonico

  2. I love the use of a table lamp on the picnic table in one of the pictures above. This isn’t lighting related, but I have been known to bring outside my indoor fans to help keep air flow moving and keep bugs away. We are in South Carolina and even in May it can be in the 80’s. My favorite way to have a party is outdoors.

    1. Karen, I spent my younger years in South Carolina (Charleston and Anderson) — very hot! Love the idea of bringing the fans outside!

  3. Tiffany Franklin says:

This looks amazing! It definitely inspires me. :)

  4. Love outdoor lighting even when we aren’t entertaining. I have twinkle lights {non flashing kind} all over our rooftop terrace…love this!

  5. I love the type of lighting that comes with candles and touches. There is just a calming vibe about them. Like you mentioned, lighting makes all the difference when it comes to creating the ambiance. Thanks for sharing.
