Southern Green Wedding
Wedding Showcase
A lot of things are close to my heart, and 2 of them are in this beautiful wedding. First, the color green, I love it. Second, traditions. Rachel and Alex Sisserson met at Vanderbilt University and were married in September 2009 in Orlando, Florida. They found neat and creative ways to incorporate their family and heritage into their wedding. Here are just a few of my favorites!
Traditions
Honoring Family: Rachel and Alex placed their parents’ and grandparents’ wedding photos on a special table at the reception. I love this idea – it’s a special way to honor and celebrate those closest to us.
Decor: Bells of Ireland were used as the alter arrangements and centerpieces of each table to celebrate and honor Rachel’s Irish heritage.
Cake: Rachel and Alex cut their chocolate mint cake with Rachel’s father’s Navy sword – the same sword used to cut the cake on the day he married Rachel’s mother.
Something Blue: Rachel started her own tradition by having her bridesmaids and moms write sweet messages on her shoes! How fun is that!
Something Old: Rachel tied her mother’s cross pendant to her bouquet in honor of her mother!
Venue: Samba Room (Orlando, FL)
Flowers: Lee James
Photography: FatCatz
Cake: Chef Stacy at the Gourmet Table
