Green & White Outdoor Tablescape

Green and White Outdoor TablescapeHi, friends! I’m back with a summer-themed outdoor dinner party to hopefully inspire you to invite your friends over and enjoy dinner under the stars! Now that we’re on the downslope of summer, it’s time to throw one last “end of summer” bash with all your favorite summer colors. I love kelly green (my wedding was kelly green) so we paired it with a bright white for a beautiful outdoor dinner party!

There’s just something so charming about eating outdoors (if the weather allows, of course) and adding glowing ambiance from pretty lanterns (mine are the small pagoda lanterns found here). A simple green and white striped table runner on a white outdoor dining table is the perfect setting for my tablescape! I love this white table – it’s the Piccadilly Dining Table found here! I find myself using it for so many parties as well as indoor events too.

I paired simple white square plates with Kate Spade green napkins and little white bowls passed down from my grandmother. They’re the perfect size for appetizer soup or salad. A simple white orchid is a lovely centerpiece that’s airy enough that guests can still talk across the table yet it adds height as well.

I love a touch of chinoiserie so white ceramic elephants were a lovely touch on either side of the orchid. Don’t be afraid to use decor elements from your own home on your tablescapes! Shop your house, friends. You likely own many unusual vases or decorative pieces that would be perfect for a centerpiece! Just get creative and try it out!

Now for one of my favorite dessert ideas! You don’t often think of ice cream cones when it comes to a dinner party, but when it’s summer, there isn’t a treat more refreshing than ice cream! For this party, it was specifically key lime pie ice cream. Just take a large bowl and place a smaller vase/bowl inside. Now you can set your cones down around the vase and either fill the vase with extra ice cream for seconds, fresh fruit, sprinkles, or other fun toppings! Prep ahead and either scoop the ice cream balls and freeze or even fill your cones and freeze the whole bowl.
