Red and Black Buffalo Check Tablescape
BUFFALO CHECK TABLESCAPE
Holiday entertaining season has ARRIVED! Whether it’s a lavish holiday party or a simple family dinner with some festive twists, I hope you’ll be inspired to entertain in style this holiday season! One of my favorite designs seeing lots of attention this year is buffalo check in red and black. It’s cozy and festive all at the same time, and I knew I had to share tips and ideas for styling a tablescape in this iconic pattern. Combine that by serving one of my favorite drinks – Jackson Morgan Southern Cream – and you have a match made in heaven! It’s a southern whiskey cream, need I say more?
It all starts with the plates, in my opinion. I have a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to plates (I need to show you inside my prop room), but when it comes to this tablescape, plates reign supreme! There are a few places that are currently selling buffalo check plates so be on the lookout. I placed the buffalo check salad plates on top of a simple black dinner plate.
I wanted the rustic holiday feel to come across on the tablescape so I swapped out traditional charger plates for wooden rounds. I added in other natural elements through the fresh greenery and magnolia leaves seen throughout. These were cut right from my yard so it’s an affordable way to add a touch of seasonal southern flair to your table.

Favors are something I love to gift out at all my parties, even simple dinner parties! You can hand them out at the door or get creative and set them on each place setting (my personal favorite). Jackson Morgan Southern Cream comes in adorable miniature bottles in the holiday “Peppermint Mocha” flavor so this was perfect. I just tied on a festive bow and placed on fresh greenery at each place setting. Easy and so cute! If you’re wrapping a larger gift, place it down in a mug with hot cocoa mix or simply gift the larger bottle as the perfect holiday hostess “happy”!
JACKSON MORGAN WHISKEY CREAM
Larger bottles of Jackson Morgan Peppermint Mocha were on the table for guests to enjoy that night, of course! I love to enjoy Jackson Morgan in hot cocoa or coffee during the winter months! It’s truly one of my favorite treats, and it’s made right here in Tennessee (in the same small town where my husband is from, to be exact). So I’m QUITE the fan! We even tucked Jackson Morgan Peppermint Mocha bottles down into the swag from my recent Sleigh Girl Sleigh event! You can find lots of recipe ideas for Jackson Morgan on The Sip, their blog! Find their store locator here.
Here’s the bottle for the Peppermint Mocha so you can be on the lookout! I love their other flavors too (hello salted caramel) but this one is just so perfect for the holiday entertaining season!
So here’s to a fabulous holiday entertaining season! I encourage you to invite over a few of your favorite friends for a festive dinner party, and share pictures with me!
Thanks to Jackson Morgan for partnering with us for this tablescape post! All opinions are our own.
Red and black buffalo check tablescape is the favourite things for me.
Where do you find the little bottles of Jackson and Morgan Cream. They are so cute on the table.
Sherri, I got them from the company, but their website has a store locator!
Thanks for the reply … unfortunately there is not a store near me.
Hi I love all of this! I am a Pastors wife. I am doing a tea party for 25 wonen. I am actually looking at doing a tea party. I think they would enjoy doing ginger bread houses.
