You read it right. Strawberries and Champagne = Margarita of my Valentine’s loving dreams.

I don’t know why I never thought of it before really, I think I thought you couldn’t add something like champagne to an already-alcoholic cocktail. But wait, who sets these rules? Cupid said I could do it so behold — my new fave margarita, just in time for February 14th! Or…any day of the year.

I whipped these babies up in less than 5 minutes which is how cocktails should be. Easy, no fuss, and oh so delicious.

Strawberries & Champagne Margarita

The idea for a Valentine’s themed margarita hit me when I happened upon some rose tinted margarita glasses in my stash of party supplies. They have the slightest hint of pink, and I love them!

I rimmed the edges in pink sugar crystals and the sweetness of the sugar pairs perfectly with this margarita. It’s not a super-sweet one (you could add simple syrup to make it sweeter). It has just the right amount of tartness.

Sometimes when I order a regular strawberry margarita, it’s so full of sugar that it’s almost too sweet. The dry champagne and strawberry puree is the perfect combo and the touch of the sweetness on the rim is all you need!
