Host a Backyard Garden Party
Grab your friends and enjoy a garden party under the stars!
Backyard Garden Party
Gathering friends and hosting a backyard party is my favorite way to entertain friends. There’s something so magical about sharing laughter and great food underneath the stars and twinkling string lights.
I wanted to share a recent garden party I styled with Crispin Rosé Cider and tips for adding garden touches to your own parties!
I started out with a simple wooden table out back. I opted against a tablecloth because I wanted things more relaxed and natural-looking.
I let all the greenery do the decorating. In fact, there were only a few garden-picked white hibiscus flowers on the table. The rest was all gorgeous greenery. Greenery doesn’t wilt as fast as flowers, in most cases, so it’s perfect for placing down the center of the table like a “runner”.
Greenery is almost much more affordable than using lots of flowers. You still achieve that gorgeous garden party style you’re after without the price tag!
Mini Charcuterie Boards
Pale blush pink plates were topped with miniature charcuterie boards. You might have spotted these in the “Book Club Party” from my latest book! I’m going to do a future post with all my tips for making mini charcuterie boards. They’re such a simple and delicious appetizer, and all your guests feel so special with their own board.
I love to personalize a party any way I can so simple gold calligraphy place cards were tucked into each place setting. This is also such a great way to mix and match friends or couples and encourage everyone to meet new friends!
The blush pink Rosé Cider was so refreshing and a bit more casual than a wine night, though that would also be delightful for a backyard party!
For any backyard party, I highly recommend lighting a few citronella candles nearby to try to deter mosquitoes. Not a fun topic, but it can ruin a party fast, so be sure you’re prepared if your yard is prone to them!
I hope you loved this simple garden party! I love sharing ways to add a few embellishments to a table to make it truly special for friends and family. Hope you enjoyed!

Where can I find those mini charcuterie boards?
They’re from Webstaurant store, but I’m going to do a full blog post soon with where to find them, how to style them, etc!
You mention you didn’t use a tablecloth but I see some gold ribbon or linen on the table? What is it and where did you get it?? Thank you!!
Hi Mia, we didn’t use a tablecloth. The table itself is a yellow-ish wood. Then there are the linen napkins. But that’s it.
I would love to purchase those mini cutting boards for Thanksgiving decor- I can’t seem to find the exact ones on the site you mentioned. Could you link those?
Kathy, They came from Webstaurant.com!
I can’t find the mini boards on webrestaurant. Have you seen them elsewhere?
Do you remember the size of the mini charcuterie boards? Webstaurant Store has 13″ x 5 1/2″…that seems larger than you use?
Hi I’m looking for the mini boards… I can’t seem to find them .. thank you
Hi Michele, I purchased them years ago at https://www.webstaurantstore.com/ but you could also check Amazon. I also saw some on Etsy.
