This refreshing blue sangria is one of those recipes that is an instant crowd-pleaser cocktail. The gorgeous turquoise color looks like something you’d order on a tropical vacation, yet it’s incredibly simple to make at home with just a handful of ingredients! Blue curacao gives this sangria that gorgeous blue color.
I love serving this for summer parties, pool days, beach weekends, or anytime friends stop by for an afternoon on the porch. Simply mix everything together ahead of time, chill until cold, then top with bubbly lemon-lime soda right before serving. Add plenty of colorful fruit for the prettiest presentation, and you’re ready to entertain.

Unlike many sangrias that can become overly sweet, this recipe starts with a crisp dry white wine balanced with fresh lemon juice and pineapple juice. The blue curaçao adds just enough orange flavor and that signature brilliant blue color without overpowering the wine.

Blue Sangria (Make Ahead Tips)
Sangria is one of my favorite party cocktails because you can make most of it ahead of time! In fact, it tastes even better when the flavors have had to meld together.
Mix together the wine, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and fresh lemon juice several hours before guests arrive (or even the night before). Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Wait to add the Sprite until just before serving so it stays bubbly and refreshing. Then simply fill your pitcher with fresh fruit and plenty of ice before serving.

Why Does Sangria Sometimes Taste Watered Down?
One of the biggest mistakes with sangria is serving it over too much melting ice.
Here are a few easy tricks:
- Chill all of your ingredients before mixing.
- Refrigerate the pitcher for several hours before serving.
- Add the soda just before guests arrive.
- Freeze pineapple chunks or orange slices to use instead of extra ice.
- Serve in ice-filled glasses rather than filling the pitcher completely with ice.
These little tricks keep every glass flavorful from the first pour to the last.
Easy Variations
This blue sangria recipe is easy to customize depending on what you have on hand.
- Swap Sprite for lemon-lime sparkling water if you prefer less sweetness.
- Use prosecco instead of soda for extra fun!
- Add fresh blueberries for another pop of color.
- Toss in strawberries, kiwi, mango, or peaches for even more tropical flavor.
- Garnish each glass with cocktail cherries, citrus slices, and pineapple wedges for a beautiful presentation.

Tropical Blue Sangria
Ingredients
- 1 750 ml bottle dry white wine
- ½ cup blue curaçao
- ¾ cup pineapple juice
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 to 3 cups Sprite or lemon-lime soda - chilled (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and fresh lemon juice.
- Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, ideally at least 2 hours or up to overnight. You CAN serve it right away if necessary!
- Just before serving, stir in the chilled Sprite.
- Add plenty of ice along with orange slices, lemon slices, pineapple wedges, and maraschino cherries.
- Pour into ice-filled glasses and garnish with additional fresh fruit if desired.
Notes
- A crisp Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio works beautifully.
- Add the Sprite just before serving to keep the sangria bubbly.
- Chill every ingredient before mixing for the best flavor.
- Freeze pineapple chunks or citrus slices instead of using extra ice to keep your sangria from becoming diluted.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The bubbles will soften over time, so add a splash of fresh Sprite before serving again.

Where is the recipe? How much Blue Curacao? What type is wine? How much Ginger Ale?
