Gingerbread House Parties (by Color Scheme)
As many of you know, I host a Gingerbread House Tea Party every year for my daughter and her friends, it’s all things pink, red, bows and sugar plum fairies!
So many of you have found inspiration from this party, but many of my boy moms and those wanting to host gingerbread house parties for boys and gender-neutral gingerbread house parties have asked for ideas too. I hear you!
Over on Instagram, many of you were eager to see other color palettes, and I promised to design out some ideas for you to host gingerbread house parties for little boys or a mix of boys and girls, etc.
While I wish I had time to physically set up each of these darling party themes (one day), but alas, I hope these collages will bring you lots of inspiration and ideas!
You’ll notice that many of the items are the same from party to party, it’s truly just a changing of colors and a few decorative elements that give the party a whole new look!
Without further ado, let’s get to the gingerbread house party ideas by color!
Green & White Gingerbread House Party
I love this classic Christmas green with pops of white and red. It’s perfect for boys (and girls) as well as family, school and church gingerbread house parties!
INVITATION: I love this simple classic Gingerbread House Party Invite for a green color scheme!
TABLECLOTH: I love this Green Check tablecloth or go with a simple, solid green tablecloth or runner. Even a simple white tablecloth with green scalloped paper placements would give a similar look.
TABLETOP DECOR: We use a lot of nutcrackers and trees at our party, and you can recreate the idea in a classic, Christmas green color scheme.
- Green Nutcrackers (and these mini nutcrackers would be cute to use as a little decorative element, lean place cards up against them, give them to each child to stick on to their house, etc.)
- Green Bottlebrush and tabletop Christmas trees
- Green and White Ribbon (love this check and this check, stripes would also be pretty, and solid green too)
- Set a collection of nutcrackers on various cake stands at different heights.
- Intertwine twinkle lights (these are my fave) down the table
GREEN CANDIES & DETAILS:
- Mini Green Wreaths
- Green Sprinkles and Candies (look for green candy canes, green peppermints, green sprinkles, green M&Ms, sixlets, etc.) Certainly have a mix of colors, but you could have a bit more on the green side to tie in the color scheme!
TABLES & CHAIRS:
- Kids Tables (one of our most asked questions, we have several we push together and reuse for countless occasions year-round)
- Kids Chiavari Chairs (we have our original chairs from Chiavari Chair Co. but added some of these a few years ago, they’re an investment but can be reused)
Blue and White Gingerbread House Party
There is nothing sweeter than this pale baby blue and white gingerbread house party! Ooh, it might just be my favorite. Add pops of silver and white for extra touches of holiday! Pops of red would be perfect too.
INVITATION: Love this Light Blue invite!
TABLECLOTH: As you know, I LOVE a simple check, and this light blue and white one is perfect. Solid light blue would also be pretty as would a white tablecloth and light blue paper placemats.
TABLETOP DECOR: We use a lot of nutcrackers and trees at our party, and you can recreate the idea with silver and white nutcrackers, add a little light blue bow tie to them with a touch of hot glue!
- Silver & White Nutcrackers (and these mini nutcrackers would be cute to use as a little decorative element, lean place cards up against them, give them to each child to stick on to their house, etc.)
- White Snowflake Ornaments (hang from the chairs, set on table, etc)
- Blue and White Ribbon (love this check, this check, and this pale blue gingham (for tiny details, mini bows, bow-ties, etc), striped and solid light blue are perfect too!
- Set a collection of nutcrackers on various cake stands at different heights.
- Intertwine twinkle lights (these are my fave) down the table
LIGHT BLUE CANDIES & DETAILS:
- Light Blue Sprinkles and Candies (look for light blue candy canes, light blue M&Ms, sixlets, etc.) Certainly have a mix of colors, but you could have a bit more on the blue side to tie in the color scheme!
- I love these light blue and gold paper party cups.
- Cute light blue and white striped plates!
TABLES & CHAIRS:
- Kids Tables (one of our most asked questions, we have several we push together and reuse for countless occasions year-round)

Christmas Train-Themed Gingerbread House Party
With a classic red and green color scheme, I adore this gingerbread house party with lots of Christmas train details. This is perfect for boys (and girls)!
LOVE trains? Then let them build gingerbread trains instead of houses, this set is super cute! Just pick up with my tutorial for the icing to add extra icing touches and details.
INVITATION: I love this invite and colors are adjustable!
TABLECLOTH: Adore this red and green tablecloth, what a classic one you can reuse all season long!
TABLETOP DECOR: Fill the table with train details, twinkle lights, tartan plaid ribbon and of course, gingerbread houses (or gingerbread trains)!

RED CANDIES & DETAILS:
- Go with classic Red and Green Sprinkles and Candies (love this red/green/white mix, red M&Ms, red hots, candy canes, red and green gumdrops, classic peppermints, etc.) Certainly have a mix of colors, but you could have a bit more on the classic holiday colors to tie in the color scheme!
