Patriotic July 4th Tablescape
A patriotic tablescape in red, white and blue table decor with lots of American flags, perfect for celebrating the 4th of July!
One of my favorite holidays of the year is the 4th of July! I have so many fond childhood memories of sparklers, chasing fireflies, and eating watermelon on July 4th. I hope I can continue these traditions for my own two girls. My mom always set a festive tablescape for every holiday, the 4th included!
I have all the tips and details below for everything you see in this 4th of July tablescape, including sources if you would like to recreate the look for your own patriotic party table!
Blue & White Buffalo Check Tablecloth
This year I wanted to carry on my love for all things buffalo plaid with this light blue check tablecloth. I love the twist on the typical royal blue for the holiday! It gives it a bit of a nautical, summer look that I love.
Here is a similar pattern tablecloth, table runner, cloth napkins, etc!
Red, White & Blue Place Settings
I layered my favorite white beaded placemats (from Frontgate, several years ago) with a red-rimmed dinner plate and red and white patterned salad plate. The plates are from HomeGoods. Here are similar dinner plates. A great red-rimmed dinner plate is so fabulous for July 4th all the way to Christmas.
You can get a similar look with a large white charger or any festive white placemat!
The light blue and white napkins are from Serena & Lily. They’re the Brela Napkin in Cornflower Blue! I also have them in yellow, they’re beautiful!
The bow napkin rings (from Klatso Home) are a new addition to my collection, and I just ADORE them. While I’ll admit they’re a little bit whimsical, isn’t that perfect for a festive summer holiday? Why not, right? I love the woven bow and the pop of red with the border.
These napkin rings would be super cute at Valentine’s Day and even the Christmas holidays too. If you have been a long-time reader, you’ll often see me reuse items all year long, that’s definitely the goal with your entertaining pieces – versatility!
The white and gold flatware is a favorite set for year-round entertaining as well. It’s a matte gold that is so pretty. You can find it here!
For glassware, I included my favorite woven Amanda Lindroth drinkware. These are the Island Wrapped Iced Tea in Natural (they come in several colors including blue) and I love the summery feel they give this table!

I added a pop of red with some simple red stemmed glasses from my mom’s collection and finished it with my favorite white wine glasses from Juliska!
Simple July 4th Centerpiece
For my centerpiece, I kept it simple and elegant with white taper candles, floral arrangements in woven vases and lots of American flags! Read on for more floral details…
July 4th Flowers
For the florals, I wanted lots of white hydrangeas, ranunculus, and lisianthus with red roses and tulips. I love how they turned out!
You can easily pull together grocery store flowers with a few greenery clippings from your own yard or garden for a similar look. In fact, the white hydrangeas, roses and tulips shown here were all from my local Publix.
I did grab the ranunculus and lisianthus from a wholesale florist, but you could create a similar look with all white and red flowers. The all white and red is so simple yet charming for the 4th!
You can easily stick little American flags down in your arrangements or just group them together in a glass or vase! American flags make every tablescape look more patriotic, and they’re super affordable.
