Whimsical Black & White Striped Wedding!
Already swooning, right? I know! So back a few years ago, my very own wedding was black and white striped! Has anyone been reading Pizzazzerie.com long enough to remember that? ;) Well, this gorgeous wedding photographed by my fabulous book photographer – Evin Photography – is now my new favorite black and white striped wedding. The pops of color and gold are to die for and the Kate Spade-esque touches are just darling. These details are perfection for a wedding but also for any type of celebration, engagement party, birthday party, you name it! Also, just LOOK at the bride’s shoes! Amazing…don’t worry, we have the source below!
Truly though, it has been quite some time since we featured a wedding here but when one like this crosses your desk, it’s a no-brainer. I had to share it with y’all. I hope you are just as inspired as I am!
Now you know I am obsessed with mini food, so these individual salads served in stemless wine glasses are absolutely the cutest ever. It’s the perfect way to tastefully eat salad while mixing and mingling (without lettuce ending up on your shoe when it falls off a plate, nobody wants that, especially on cute shoes). If you’re as tickled pink with the mini salad idea as I am, check out these mini salad recipes below!

A few more of the black and white striped wedding details! These photos literally make me want to go grab a black and white striped tablecloth (if you don’t own one but would like to, here’s a great one) and host a girl’s dinner party! The colors are just so inspiring. Plus, it’s peony season and I just adore hot pink peonies on a black and white striped tablecloth. Instant party vibe!
And a few more shots of this gorgeous location, that POOL! It provided such a pretty backdrop for photos. Look at all the pretty wedding tables set up around it! And the fancy little appetizers being passed around? Delish.
The mini champagne bottles? Sheer perfection! They’re so cute and fun for guests to grab and sip! The black and white striped straws? These extra details are what make the wedding super fabulous! They’re little details that don’t necessarily cost a lot but make a huge impact on overall decor!
Ashleigh Ford, the lovely bride, was kind enough to share some of the wedding details with us (like the source for those SHOES)! Thanks, Ashleigh!
What inspired your wedding design and styling?
I would say my inspiration came from more of an idea of what I knew I didn’t want. I think all of the vintage looks and light pinks and whites and blush tones that are really in right now are stunning, but they just aren’t me. I started brainstorming and knew I wanted something classic, but also fun. I ran across some black and white striped linens that someone else had used and I thought they were exactly what I wanted, elegant but kind of whimsical and fun. I took that as a starting point and ran with it from there adding in other things that I like. I love bright colors, so that’s where the brighter pinks and corals in my flowers and napkins came in and I love all things gold, so that’s where my flatware, frames and vases came in for some fun accent pieces.
What was your favorite detail of the wedding decorations?
It’s hard to pick just one! I think my favorite details were the flowers. Caprice Palmer with The Enchanted Florist did an amazing job bringing my idea of what I wanted to life, and all of the vases that were used on the tables were hand painted by my Mom and I, so that was really special to see something we had spent so much time on turn out so beautiful! Another of my favorite details was the gold-framed floral “F” that my friend and I made together. It’s now hanging in our house!
Where did you get your fabulous wedding shoes?!
Thanks! I love those shoes and just happened to stumble upon them when shopping at Nordstrom one day! It’s like they were made for our wedding theme! Note from Courtney: They’re still available at Nordstrom! CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM!
What appetizers were served?
Our caterers did such a fabulous job with all of our food. We used Chef’s Market in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
- candied bacon boursin stuffed figs
- stuffed figs
- pimiento cheese topped fried green tomatoes.
